It was good. Very loud. It was a live band that night. But atmosphere and food was good
Headed there early Saturday night with my some of my family, good looking place inside, appears to be recently renovated. Too cold to use it but a large good looking patio outback. The service started out slow as apparently we had arrived at shift change, lots of servers but no one be came to help us. Finally a server came over and was good for the rest of the night. Wide collection of draft beer as well as custom cocktails. Food is very good. I had the hamburger with brisket chili on top and it was excellent. The rest of the group enjoyed their selections as well. The band was setting up for live music on Saturday night and I hear they have live music on the weekends outside during summer months. Definitely a must stop if you are ever in plain city or northwest corner of Cbus
I had a great brisket sandwich called the John Alder about a month ago. Also had the awesome wings. Last night I was served a very dry brisket sandwich. Bbq can be hard to keep moist but the Grainary needs to fiquire this out. The serving size was very small. I'll pay more for additional meat on my sandwich. I would like to see BBQ by the pound as a menu option.
Just adding a quick update...they are expanding and it's going to be great!! My only complaint about The Grainery was that the seating always felt cramped and weird. This is going to add so much space!! Forgot the picture but had the chili last night. It's my favorite thing in the menu! The cornbread at this place is outstanding!
Met a friend for lunch, and ran into another here. This has been several different restaurants, and I've been to previous ones at this location. Currently sidewalk and street construction going on; best to park behind the Lovejoy Plaza mall in the free city lot. Nice atmosphere: open front room (and literally open today, with the nice weather, since they have a big movable front window.) Smaller, darker, quieter room in back where we hung out. Plus "the Silo" upstairs, I assume a party room or overflow seating. Excellent service start to finish. My friend got a hangover burger and liked it. Baby K had a kid's mac plus fries. Liked the mac, wasn't into the fries. I thought they were good- battered and crispy. I had a barbacoa sandwich with baked beans and potato salad. The meat was nicely shredded, flavorful with a bit of heat. Too wet for the bun; I ended up using fork and knife. Baked beans were excellent, with chunks of brisket in them. Potato salad had bacon, ranch, etc., and was also excellent. Best BBQ ever? No, but pretty good, and a really good experience on the whole. A little expensive, felt like, for what you get. But what isn't nowadays? I'll be back.
